The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) has named Alex Shikany to the new role of executive vice president. He previously served as VP of membership and market intelligence.
He will serve as the day-to-day liaison to the A3 Board of Directors and lead the A3 leadership team, driving strategic initiatives, fostering collaboration and enhancing member value to advance A3’s mission.
A3’s President Jeff Burnstein said he created the EVP role based on the rapid growth of the association. “With A3 in its strongest position ever, and Alex running the internal operations, I’m now able to spend most of my time on A3’s long-term strategy in areas such as new partnership opportunities, expanded efforts to accelerate adoption of automation and our global footprint,” he said in a statement.
Shikany joined A3 in 2012 as director of market analysis. He led A3’s rebranding initiative, unifying four organizations under the A3 umbrella in 2021.
In his previous role, Shikany expanded A3’s global reach to over 1,300 member companies while advancing its market intelligence capabilities in robotics, machine vision, motion control and artificial intelligence.
