Rethink Robotics, Boston, has appointed Julia Astrid Riemenschneider as CEO and Franziska Lorenz as COO.
They will oversee the installation of the North American headquarters and expansion of the team. By the end of 2025, the company plans to relocate robot production from Europe to the U.S.
Riemenschneider will manage all customer-facing departments, including marketing, sales, business development, product development and application engineering. She previously worked for United Robotics Group, sensor and machine vision manufacturers, and Universal Robots.
Lorenz brings experience from Hahn Automation Group, United Robotics Group and Schenck Process Group. She will manage the HR, finance, production and service departments.
Originally founded in 2008, Rethink Robotics was an automation pioneer with its collaborative robots, Baxter and Sawyer. It is now part of the United Robotics Group, Bochum, Germany, and launched a new product line this year, including cobots, autonomous mobile robots and a mobile manipulator platform.
