Globeius, which provides equipment and technical support for the plastics industry in North and South America, has acquired Plastixs LLC, a manufacturer and distributor of equipment for the plastics and other industries. Terms were not disclosed.
Mickey Blyskal, former owner of Plastixs, will stay on as GM of the new entity, along with all current Plastixs employees.
“This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Globeius’ growth,” said Ernie Sosa, president of Globeius. “It will expand our product offerings and strengthen our position in the industry, and we are confident that this acquisition will create exciting opportunities and synergies within the group.”
Globeius specializes in the import and export of products, which will give Plastixs an opportunity to offer its products outside of the U.S., particularly in Latin America, while Plastixs’ strength and sales reach in the U.S. and Canadian markets will benefit Globeius.
Although Globeius and Plastixs sell some common products, each brings special products and expertise it can cross sell, Sosa said.
Plastixs’ products include specialized manifold assemblies, hoses, hose assemblies and fittings for handling high-temperature water and oil; a patented LinkedXValve water manifold accessory for running large numbers of water circuits on molds; and a high-performance material-handling hose. The company is based in Shrewsbury, Mass.
Globeius, based in Miami, offers a range of products including water hoses and manifolds, end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) and maintenance supplies, conveyors, granulators and heavy-duty mold racks.
