Mecademic robot minimizes reflection

Sept. 17, 2024
The Meca500-OBS has a black coating to improve safety and reduce inaccuracy in demanding environments.

Meca500-OBS Mecademic’s industrial robot enables active alignment with increments of 0.001 mm. The company says it is the world’s smallest, most compact six-axis industrial robot arm.

What’s new? The Meca500-OBS, which is coated with a black color that absorbs up to 96.5 percent of light.

Benefits Reduced reflection and enhanced safety in sensitive manufacturing environments. The Meca500-OBS was engineered for use in demanding environments, such as with artificial intelligence vision systems or for the manufacture of optics and photonics, where light reflection can cause inaccurate measurements or pose safety hazards. By minimizing reflective issues, the Meca500-OBS can be very close to a product being inspected without affecting its illumination, allowing for faster load time in production.
