Creaform's Max scanners sport new features

Nov. 22, 2023
They make scanning simpler and faster than earlier scanners, even for inexperienced users.

Max series These new hand-held 3D scanners from Creaform use 38 blue laser lines to offer a large scanning area of approximately 3.3 feet by 3.3 feet. With them, users can quickly complete metrology-grade scans of molds and large parts for tasks such as creating a 3D file, measuring dimensions and geometries, or reverse-engineering. The scanners can be used whether in the lab, on the shop floor or in the field. They are available in two models – the Handyscan Max and Handyscan Max Elite.

What’s new? The Max scanners, which introduce new feature such as Flex Volume, Smart Surface Algorithm and Real-Time Calibration.

Benefits Speed and simplified scanning. The Flex Volume feature lets users capture high-quality scans at a short standoff distance while also quickly measuring large parts from a longer distance. The series’ Smart Surface Algorithm improves scans of shiny, oily and reflective finishes without requiring surface treatment or part preparation, and employs artificial intelligence to perform tracking functions better. The Real-Time Calibration automates the calibration step as part of the scanning workflow. The scanners also deliver high accuracy on large measurements, even for inexperienced users.
