Up to 4,000 expected to undergo training at site annually.

ABB has opened a new global innovation and training campus. ABB invested about $100 million to expand into the new campus.

ABB CEO Björn Rosengren said: “Innovation has been in ABB’s DNA for more than 130 years, and our division, B&R, is a true innovation hotspot for the transformation towards more-automated manufacturing. The official opening of this campus is a proud moment for our ABB as we create highly skilled jobs while shaping the machines and factories of the future together with our customers.”

About 2,400 employees currently work at B&R in Eggelsberg, Austria, and the new campus features research and development laboratories, as well as training facilities expected to host up to 4,000 people per year in collaboration with universities. ABB expects the campus to become a hub for integrated production, research and training in central Europe, and to bring up to 1,000 new high-tech jobs. The new campus expands B&R's headquarters to a total footprint of more than 1 million square feet.

Headquartered in Oerlikon, Switzerland, ABB provides solutions in many sectors, including process automation and robotics.
