Prima Z  Zahoransky’s line of fully automated injection molding work cells for making syringes includes a variety of machines — such as Z.Blizzard, Z.Mistral and Z.Lodos automation solutions — that can be tailored to individual requirements. Core specifications are available on request and can be matched to your application. Offering full product and data record traceability, the line includes full integration with smooth handling systems and 360-degree quality-control systems. Ready-to-use, pre-filled syringes can be made from cyclic olefin copolymer (COC)- and cyclic olefin polymer (COP)-based materials.

What’s new? A Medical Design version that follows current Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles, as well as best practices for clean rooms. It is optimized for production of staked needle syringes, but it is also suitable for Luer and Luer-lock syringes. Versions for molds with up to 16 cavities are available. Users of the Prima Z, as well as other Zahoransky machines, can opt to add artificial intelligence (AI)-based products, called Shannon and Hopper, from analytics software provider Plus10, Stuttgart, Germany. Shannon provides AI-based knowledge management for smart troubleshooting to support operators at the machine, while Hopper delivers continuous set-parameter optimization within the validated process window, reducing scrap. Depending on interface access, data availability and validation requirements, the options can be added to existing machines.

Benefits Efficient, optimized output of COC and COP syringes that meet standards with minimal operator workload. It is compliant with GMP principles and supports standardized and controlled processes, qualified component selection, particle-minimized product handling, and easy, hygienic access for cleaning and maintenance for clean rooms.
