Roboshot Alpha 500iA With 500 tons of clamping force, this Milacron press is built to precision mold parts for the medical and automotive industries. It is configured for general-purpose resins, but higher-grade packages for engineering resins also are available. The machine’s customizable software facilitates lights-out manufacturing. Shown is the European version of the machine, bearing its clamping-force designation in metric tons.

What’s new? A larger injection unit frame. The machine, which could previously handle shots of 35.2 ounces, now can handle up to 94 ounces. To make possible injection molding with the larger shot sizes, Milacron also has altered the design of the press, with a Fanuc motor system now powering the injection screw.

Benefits The ability to create parts with thinner walls.
