Kaeser Compressor’s SFC 18 rotary-screw air compressor is appropriate for various applications within manufacturing plants, including plastics processing facilities.

SFC 18 Kaeser’s SFC 18 rotary-screw air compressor is appropriate for various applications within manufacturing plants, including plastics processing facilities. The 25-horsepower, variable-speed unit delivers compressed-air volumes ranging from 31 cubic feet per minute (cfm) to 134 cfm.

What’s new? The SynRM motor-drive combination, which was developed in partnership with Siemens.  Specifically designed to work with compressors in Kaeser’s SFC product line, the motors are made of electrical steel and feature a special rotor profile.

Benefits Efficiency, longer service life and reduced maintenance costs. The motor-drive combination performs especially well in partial-load conditions. Because of the unique rotor design, the motors run cooler, resulting in lower bearing and winding temperatures and increased motor life. Additionally, because there are no magnets in the rotor, motor service is safer and easier.
