Micron3D SmartTech3D’s Micron3D is an optical coordinate measurement machine that can capture measurements from shiny and dark surfaces. It can capture a resolution of up to 400 points per square millimeter and can handle more than 300 million points of data. In the U.S., the Warsaw, Poland-based SmartTech3D sells the devices through its agent, CADimensions.

What’s new? The 10Mpix version of the scanner, which debuted this year.

Benefits High-resolution scans. The Micron3D can capture texture and measure with precision up to 15 microns, in full color, making it suited for quality control and reverse engineering tasks. Optional changeable lenses offer up to four different fields of view, and the unit’s housing is made with carbon fiber for durability. SmartTech3D can customize its scanners to perform automated measuring when mounted on robotic arms.
