Lump breaker Kason’s lump breakers can be used to break up materials that have clumped together because of moisture or compaction. The machines can handle a variety of materials, including resins and additives such as colorants and flame retardants. They can be used to break up out-of-spec materials prior to grinding or milling. They also are ideal for preparing materials for gravimetric feeding and blending.

What’s new? A new model, LB 550. Featuring interchangeable rotors and screens, the lump breaker can handle materials that have been emptied directly from bulk bags. It comes in three versions, made from carbon steel, stainless steel or metal alloys, and has serrated blades that chop up lumps as material falls from an upper port. The lump breaker is available with a standard shaft supported at both ends; an optional cantilevered shaft designed for easier access and cleaning also is available.

Benefits Efficient de-agglomeration. The LB 550 operates quietly and generates little heat.
