Processing equipment maker Arburg GmbH + Co KG has been recognized in the top 5 percent of companies for its commitment to sustainability, according to EcoVadis, a comprehensive sustainability rating platform for global supply chains.
EcoVadis, which evaluated more than 100,000 companies this year, looks at issues including environmental impact, sustainable procurement, and labor and human rights. In all four areas, Arburg improved from last year and earned a Gold Medal.
“Sustainability is firmly rooted in the DNA of our family business," said Managing Partner Juliane Hehl, who is responsible for the company’s global marketing and business development. “That's why we have always invested a great deal in the areas of sustainability and resource conservation, and on reducing our carbon footprint."
Based in Lossburg, Germany, Arburg is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions along its entire value chain by 2050.
