X-Pure uses distilled water for cooling molds

Aug. 13, 2024
The water reservoir from Plastixs is effective for applications between 300 and 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

X-Pure This water reservoir from Plastixs can be connected to provide cooling water for molds. It’s effective with applications requiring temperatures between 300 degrees Fahrenheit and 450 degrees Fahrenheit, because such high temperatures can force contaminants, such as calcium, out of water, allowing them to become caked onto molds and machinery. Such buildup — known as scale — can affect heat transfer and cause damage. Kits are available to hook up the system, with capacities of up to 10 gallons, to service two temperature control units.

What’s new? The reservoir, which was displayed at NPE2024.

Benefits The ability to supply molds with distilled water. While other water sources could introduce scale and buildup into the mold, the reservoir ensures that only clean water circulates through the system.
