Flexicon introduces low-profile bulk bag discharger

Its half-frame bulk bag discharger is easy to transport and use in tight spaces.

Bulk bag discharger This half-frame bulk bag discharger from Flexicon can transfer material to downstream equipment or storage vessels with its integral flexible screw conveyor. It can accept material from a bulk bag, or the operator can raise the hopper door and a hinged bag-dump support shelf to pour material directly from a smaller sack through a coarse screen into the hopper. A forklift or hoist is used to support a bulk bag, and a telescoping tube is raised from the discharger to attach a clamp ring to the bulk bag. As the material is emptied, Flow-Flexer bag activators are timed to alternately raise and lower opposite edges of the bag’s bottom to loosen agglomerates and maintain free flow.

What’s new? A low-profile design. By eliminating upper frame components, the system has a low center of gravity and is smaller than many other dischargers, making it easier to transport and use and maneuver in tight quarters.

Benefits Dust-free transfer of free-flowing and non-free-flowing bulk materials. The integral Bag-Vac dust collector draws air and dust away from the operator when smaller sacks are emptied, and when the hopper lid is closed, it creates negative pressure to prevent dust from escaping. It also collapses empty bags before they are disconnected, eliminating dust emissions. The discharger is available in all-stainless construction or in carbon steel with industrial coatings for durability and easy cleaning.
