ProRate Plus Coperion K-Tron has expanded its original ProRate line with its ProRate Plus line of continuous gravimetric feeders. The single-screw feeders are well-suited to feeding free-flowing materials such as plastic pellets and granules. ProRate Plus feeders come in three models, the Plus-S, Plus-M and Plus-L, for a range of throughput needs. Up to six can be clustered at a single process inlet; an array of six Plus-L feeders could theoretically support a throughput of up to 1,017 cubic feet of material per hour, while occupying a footprint of only 75 square feet. All ProRate Plus feeders come with P-SFT load cells, and two different models of the Pro-Rate Plus PCM control module are available.

Benefits Cost effectiveness and ease of use. The feeders’ patent pending ProClean Rail system lets users retract the base unit and rotate it, so cleaning and maintenance of the feeding section and screw element can be performed while the feeder is in position. Magnetic mounting of the bellows and screw provides the necessary holding force but makes tool-free disassembly easy. They have a standardized design, so many parts are identical between all three models, minimizing the number of spare parts that must be stocked.
