Andrew “Andy” Routsis, who founded Routsis Training Inc., died Nov. 4. He was 63. Routsis created the company in 1982, providing online and in-house training for injection molding, blow molding and extrusion, and served as its president.

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell with a BS in plastics engineering, Routsis also taught there as an adjunct professor for 20 years, according to his LinkedIn profile, and was a member of industry organizations, including the SPE Injection Molding Division.

Routsis Training personnel said Routsis was in Indianapolis attending the annual MAPP Benchmarking Summit, and that he died unexpectedly, but peacefully, in his sleep.

A blog post on the Routsis Training website announced that Steve Murphy will step forward to lead Dracut, Mass.-based Routsis Training. Murphy has more than 40 years of experience in the plastics industry, and has worked with the company since the 1990s.
