Hexagon adds to its line of retrofit CMM controllers

March 8, 2019

RC241 and RC4K Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence has expanded its line of retrofit controllers for coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs) that are structurally sound but have outdated or obsolete components. The RC241 is intended for small and entry-level bridge CMMs, supporting up to three axes and providing up to 240 watts of output power. The RC4K works with large gantry and horizontal-arm CMMs, supporting up to six configurable axes and providing up to 4 kilowatts of output power.

What’s new? The ability to retrofit small and large CMMs. These new controllers join the existing RC1, which was created for medium-sized and high-end bridge, gantry and horizontal-

arm CMMs.

Benefits Extended CMM life. The new controllers head off potential downtime caused by outdated components. They also allow users to upgrade to the latest software and make available cutting-edge features from Hexagon such as Fly2 Mode, which automatically optimizes the route between measurement points, reducing idle times. The retrofit controllers work with a wide range of CMM brands.
