Zeiss CMMs can accommodate big parts

Feb. 5, 2019

Spectrum This line of entry-level coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs) from Zeiss includes six models, each with a 23.6-inch-high bridge to accommodate large parts. The machines can be used to measure parts during either the design or production phases, as well as molds and tooling. They are available with measuring areas ranging from about 19.7 inches by 19.7 inches to 27.6 inches by 39.4 inches. Shown is a model known as the 5/5/6.

What’s new? The series. Named after a series that Zeiss last sold several years ago, it features streamlined shrouds around mechanical parts, upgraded sensors and the company’s latest software.

Benefits Reliable, accurate measurements. Also, for ease of use, the CMMs run the same measurement software as other Zeiss machines, and they are compatible with a number of CAD modeling formats, including SolidWorks, Creo, Siemens NX and CATIA.
