Vision systems offering high-res scanning

In-Sight 9900 Cognex has introduced a line of ultra-high-resolution vision systems designed for part location, measurement and inspection tasks in harsh factory environments. Each standalone system uses a single camera that can capture images of large parts while still being able to accurately measure the size, shape and placement of small features.

What’s new? The product line, which consists of two models: the In-Sight 9902L, which is a monochrome line-scan system; and the In-Sight 9912, an area-scan system that also is available in a color version.

Benefits Simple, high-resolution scanning. The In-Sight 9900 line allows users to inspect, measure and identify multiple part features without the difficulties of programming a complicated PC- or controller-based system. Task setup is straightforward via the In-Sight Explorer EasyBuilder interface. The systems provide a large image size without sacrificing clarity, even from long distances. This allows them to be mounted away from conveyors and at a safe distance from hazardous equipment. The systems are less complex, easier to calibrate and less costly than multi-camera systems. An IP-67-rated housing protects the system from liquids and dust.
