Winders Graewe GmbH, Neuenburg, Germany, supplies a variety of fully automatic and semi-automatic downstream handling machines for coiling pipes, hoses and profiles. In the U.S., the coilers are available through Dundee Machinery Sales.
What’s new? Graewe’s biggest-ever coiler, the EW 4500 XXL. Two of the new coilers, for cross-linked PE pipe, have recently been installed in facilities in South America. The model also is available to customers in the U.S., where the biggest models in use so far have worked with pipe with maximum outer diameters of 7.1 inches.
Benefits Strength. Usually coilers wrap pipe around steel drums, but the EW 4500 XXL is so strong it doesn’t require drums. This saves transport costs and energy, as only the coils — not coils wrapped around steel drums — need to be shipped and no drums have to be returned to the coiler user.
