Sikora Laser Pro provides accurate quality control

Sept. 18, 2024
It detects and reports contamination and irregularities of extruded hoses in real time.

Laser Pro Sikora’s non-contact hose and tube diameter measurement device offers the option of Fast Fourier Transform analysis — or FFT algorithm — to detect periodically recurring variations in product parameters. Used with the Laser Pro, the company’s EcoControl processor system can display the technology’s measured values, as well as other information, such as trend data, statistical functions and FFT analyses. The Laser Pro device is available in three models for product dimensions from 0.1mm to 51mm.

What’s new? The Laser Pro, based on Sikora’s Laser series, which has been used with extrusion lines for several decades.

Benefits Optimized production and cost savings. Using diffraction analysis and pulse-controlled laser diodes, the Laser Pro captures 500,000 measuring points per second per measuring axis in the entire measuring field, resulting in 5,000 accurately measured values per second per measuring axis. It detects and reports gradually occurring contamination in real time. With it, manufacturers can detect irregularities during extrusion and make high-quality hoses. Because it has no moving parts, the Laser Pro is maintenance- and wear-free. A single pre-delivery calibration can guarantee precision for the lifetime of the device. Uptime of the laser measuring heads is 99.8 percent. The Laser Pro measuring heads feature a compact, slim design.
