BW Packaging pledges emissions cuts

Company aims to curb emissions by 25 percent by 2030.

BW Packaging, the packaging machinery group of Barry-Wehmiller, announced it has set new climate targets, with a goal of reducing its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent by 2030, using 2021 as its baseline year. 

“Sustainability is critical to building a better world for future generations, and BW Packaging has a responsibility to reduce our environmental impact,” said Rachana Creeth, group president for BW Packaging. “With these new goals, we are holding ourselves accountable to take meaningful action to combat climate change.” 

To achieve its emissions reduction target, BW Packaging will explore various opportunities including renewable power procurement, LED lighting retrofits, optimized HVAC controls, operations settings management, destratification fan installation and more. Barry-Wehmiller is headquartered in St. Louis.
