Hybrid PE pipe haul-off/puller Developed in collaboration with a DRTS client, this DRTS haul-off/puller aims to maximize efficiency across a wide range of pipe sizes. It addresses a challenge common to processors that produce pipe in a range of sizes — that equipment optimized for one extreme of the size range will not work as well with pipe at the other end of the spectrum, and vice versa. Typically, if a haul-off/puller has the torque needed for large-diameter pipe, it will not be able to run at a speed that is efficient for a much smaller-diameter pipe.
What’s new? A two-in-one puller system. The new haul-off/puller has a dual belt system, running off a single HMI control panel. It has a triple-arm caterpillar for pipe from 40mm to 110mm in diameter, and a dual-lintex belt puller for pipes from 16mm to 32mm. For the smaller pipe range, it can run at speeds of up to about 330 feet per minute, while a standard haul-off/puller that could handle pipe up to 110mm would normally offer a maximum speed of about 100 feet per minute. The haul-off/puller is available as a new option for turnkey large-diameter range PE lines from DRTS, or as a stand-alone unit that can be integrated into existing production lines.
Benefits Simple, cost-effective flexibility in a small footprint. Users can choose which belt system to use with the simple press of a button, rather than having to change belt pads or buying two different-sized units — the solution that some processors choose.
