Differential air shaft simplifies web winding

April 21, 2022
The Tidland D6X uses varied internal air pressure to adjust as roll diameters increase.

Differential air shaft Maxcess produces a wide range of vision systems and web-handling machinery for applications such as film, packaging and converting. Its differential air shafts for winding up web products can vary their internal pressure to optimize tension as the roll diameter increases.

What’s new? The Tidland D6X, which incorporates new features such as removable core-stop trays, a simplified air system, narrow slit widths and improved core stability. The D6X replaces Tidland’s discontinued D2 and D3 shafts.

Benefits Reduced setup time and simpler maintenance. Its removable core-stop trays and recipe saving make setup quicker and allow for more uptime. Its air bladders and tension segments are easy to replace. Maxcess said the Tidland D6X is ideal for high-weight-capacity or high-tension-range applications. The arrangement of its core stops provides greater stability, which leads to better edge quality at faster speeds.
