The system features a new winder and a compact water bath.

Lab Line Collin’s compact Lab Lines can produce high-precision filament for 3D printers or multilayer tubes. The basic elements of the modular systems are an extrusion unit; a melt pump and die; a water bath; a diameter gauge and takeoff system; and a filament winder. The lines can process biopolymers, technical resins and high-temperature plastics, including PP, PE, PVC, polyamide, PET, PEEK, TPU, TPE and polylactic acid.

What’s new? A Lab Line optimized for filament production that features a new mono-filament winder and a shortened water bath. The new winder can perform sequential or parallel winding. It is especially appropriate for round filaments or small tubes and can provide layer-to-layer winding or cross winding. The innovative water bath used to cool the filament can optionally be configured to temper the strands. The line can produce up to 656 feet of filament per minute, with diameters ranging from 0.5mm to 4mm.

Benefits Precision and efficiency. The compact winder features a quick coupling system for fast bobbin changes. The system ensures precise roundness, consistent throughputs and short purging and material changing times.
