Schmalz Inc. celebrated the groundbreaking of a project to expand its facility in Raleigh, N.C. The site, which was completed in 2016, has faced rapid growth; the construction will triple the size of the current facility.
The company has invested more than $14 million in the location to date and expects to add 62 jobs in the coming years. The new building will offer space for assembly and testing of robotic automation and material handling systems.
A third-generation, family-owned company that was founded in Glatten, Germany, and produced razor blades, Schmalz has its U.S. headquarters in Raleigh and provides vacuum automation and ergonomic handling solutions.
