Biaxially oriented polyamide (BOPA) lines For its BOPA extruder lines, Brückner Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG, Siegsdorf, Germany, has extended the capabilities of its Linear Motor Simultaneous Stretching system. The technology, also known as LISIM, stretches film transversely, as well as in the machine direction, at the same time. Brückner, which is represented in the U.S. by Brückner Group USA, supplies turnkey lines, including the resin-handling equipment at the start of the line and the winder at the end.
What's new? A new working width, up to about 21.7 feet. Brückner's LISIM machines previously topped out at about 16.7 feet.
Benefits Output increases of about 30 percent, compared to Brückner's older LISIM-equipped machines, thanks to the bigger width. Also, the company says the process imparts better properties to the film than sequential stretching.
