M3 mini: This newest addition to Mold Hotrunner Solutions' M3 micro electro-pneumatic injection molding machines offers direct gating of parts with shot weights from 1 to 400 milligrams, at rates suited to prototype or industrial production.

M3 mini This newest addition to Mold Hotrunner Solutions' M3 micro electro-pneumatic injection molding machines offers direct gating of parts with shot weights from 1 to 400 milligrams, at rates suited to prototype or industrial production.

What's new? A wider range of shot weights and a smaller footprint than MHS' bigger M3. The mini unit is 4.9 feet wide, 1.64 feet deep and 4.9 feet tall, and is equipped with a touch screen control. Instead of a mold, the M3 mini uses a cavity insert plate that is 6.9 inches by 4.7 inches and is quick and easy to install. Each insert has six cavities; micro parts run on a fast cycle, typically 5 seconds. The mini features industrial electromagnets with a clamping force of 20 kilonewtons (2 metric tons), and can be fitted with small cold runners if required. The machine handles a range of materials, including engineering composites, and is clean room ready. The M3 micro molding machines use MHS' Isokor rheological technology: plastic is conditioned close to the gate to trim melt residence time and minimize material degradation.

Benefits Less scrap and cost savings. The M3 mini offers an alternative to traditional molding for sectors requiring more and more miniaturization of parts such as medical, electronics and telecommunications.
