Uniloy Inc. announced it has entered the PET stretch blow molding machine market with the purchase of some assets of defunct Vaughn, Ontario-based blow molding equipment supplier Amsler Equipment Inc. Under its new Uniloy SBM product line, it will supply spare parts and service to support owners of Amsler equipment.
Uniloy hired former Amsler CEO Bruce Coxhead, as well as other Amsler technical staff, to ensure the success of the support operations. Coxhead is now the GM of the Uniloy SBM product line.
Uniloy President and CEO Brian Marston said, “With the closure of Amsler Equipment Inc. operations in Vaughn, Uniloy saw an opportunity to provide our industry-leading blow molding expertise, service network and knowledgeable associates to assist those that had been left without support.”
Coxhead said, “The most important message I have to those that currently have Amsler equipment — rest assured, you’re in good hands. I’ve worked with Brian for many years and am very familiar with the team at Uniloy. They’re the perfect fit to provide a seamless transition for all of the equipment owners left without options after Amsler closed its doors.”
Uniloy acquired assets that were abandoned by Amsler after it had been a tenant of Niigon Machines Ltd. Uniloy purchased the assets from the receiver and trustee in Niigon’s bankruptcy proceedings.
W. Amsler Equipment Inc. was founded in 1994 by Werner Amsler, a Swiss native. Amsler had been acquired by Benpac Holding Ltd. USA in 2020. Based in Tecumseh, Mich., Uniloy designs and builds blow molding machinery.
