ProX DMP 3D Systems has upgraded its entire line of direct-metal 3-D printers, including those that are suitable for mold making for the plastics industry.

What's new? The firm's 3DXpert software, which now comes bundled with all of its ProX DMP printers.  Shown is an image of the software's support-creation function, which can be automated by using templates. Also, the company has added build-simulation functionality to the software, which helps users avoid trial-and-error iterations typically needed for validating design and allows them to minimize build failures, reduce production time and prevent printer damage.

Benefits Simplified workflows, increased productivity and lower cost of operations. 3DXpert eliminates the need for multiple software packages because users also can use it to program post-processing operations, such as drilling and milling. It also delivers advanced capabilities in print preparation, supports and structure optimization.
