REP adds 2 new press lines

Nov. 1, 2016

At the K show, REP International, Corbas, France, announced two new lines of injection molding machines that can handle both rubber and TPEs. The company, represented in the U.S. by its subsidiary, REP Corp., Bartlett, Ill., added the G10 Core and G10 Extended models to its offerings.

The G10 Core is a base model tailored to simple processes and has clamping forces of 160 to 500 tons. It is equipped with a patented injection unit and has a sturdy and ergonomic closing unit and robust process control system. REP demonstrated a G10 V410 Core model at the K show.

REP developed the G10 Extended line of machines for heavy-duty processes. The new line, with clamping forces ranging from 160 to 1,000 tons, further extends the performance of previous generations, offering better energy efficiency, enhanced productivity, improved ergonomics and greater ease of maintenance.

REP has incorporated several smart technologies into the G10 Extended models. REP released a new app and software to meet evolving challenges relating to Industry 4.0 connectivity. The new software, called REP Pack 4.0, allows for real-time monitoring and plant floor modeling, as well as centralized management of mold settings, productivity calculations, Statistical Process Control and many other functions.

Incorporated into REP Pack 4.0 is Rep Net 4.0 and Rep Net App, the fourth generation of the company's RepNet supervision software and mobile app.

REP also displayed the TYC Compression press for molding rubber composites, including TPEs, at the K show. The unit was developed by Tung Yu Hydraulic Machinery Co. Ltd., Nantou City, Taiwan, a long-time partner for REP, the company said. REP said, with Tung Yu's diverse experience, it can now offer machines for the molding of composites, rubber and thermoset materials. Tung Yu is involved with the design and manufacture of machines for vacuum compression molding and sandwich molding, as well as presses for clean rooms.
