    EDMs from Makino boast an accurate and delicate touch

    Makino has expanded its electrical discharge machining EDNC equipment line with the EDNC1, EDNC15 and EDNC20.

    Sinker EDMs Makino has expanded its electrical discharge machining EDNC equipment line with the EDNC10 (shown at right), EDNC15 and EDNC20. The machines, which are suited for production of large molds and dies, vary in size, with maximum electrode weights ranging from 662 to 1,654 pounds. They have high-mass castings; dual-anchored, direct-drive ball screws; and an integrated reservoir and stationary table.

    What's new? The machines, which were released in November. 

    Benefits Accuracy, speed and smooth surface finishes. The machines produce delicate, fine features, even as part of large workpieces.

    American Plastic Molding
    American Plastic Molding in Scottsburg, Ind., is beginning the new year with a new 900-ton molding machine from Milacron. Acquired late last year, it replaces a 725-ton molding machine that took up the same footprint. Adam Auffart, VP of sales and marketing for APM, says tariffs proposed by President-elect Donald Trump might steer more customers to the shop's mold-making and molding services.
