Sidel's latest bottle labeler uses roll-fed technology to apply labels quickly and accurately.

Matrix SL70 Sidel's latest bottle labeler uses roll-fed technology to apply labels quickly and accurately. It is suitable for applying very thin wraparound plastic labels on PET and HDPE containers of up to 5 liters in volume with diameters from 1.6 to 5.5 inches. The modular machine has a compact footprint and can be installed in various configurations.

What's new? The machine, which replaces earlier models. It features direct-drive servomotors, eliminating the belts and gears on prior machines.

Benefits Fast changeovers, reduced maintenance, higher throughput and economical operation. One machine operator can change the machine over to a new container type in only 25 minutes, which is 30 percent faster than previous models. Sidel has reduced required maintenance time by 40 percent by eliminating lubrication points, using an open structure for easy access and making the servomotor modules easy to replace. The SL70 can label 60,000 bottles per hour, which is 40 percent higher than previous Sidel machines. Additionally, the machine can reduce operating costs because of reduced glue consumption — 5 grams per 1,000 bottles — and it requires less energy to process very thin labels and lightweight bottles.
