Nexa3D, which makes 3D printing technologies used in prototyping and other applications, has announced it’s shutting down. In a statement Dec. 20, it indicated it will provide more guidance to customers in the coming weeks.
“Unfortunately, like many others in our sector, we have faced significant funding challenges that have made it impossible for us to continue operations in their current form, and Nexa3D has taken the necessary steps to scale back accordingly. This is a profoundly difficult decision, but we are heartened by the knowledge that Nexa3D’s legacy will endure in the innovations and partnerships we helped create.
“... As we navigate this transition, we are committed to supporting our loyal customers as much as we are able. We are actively working to provide solutions for service and consumables to allow continuity for your operations, but of course we cannot make any guarantees,” the company, based in Denmark and Ventura, Calif., said in its statement.
Established eight years ago, the company has a portfolio of over 300 patents. Among its newest technologies was the Xip desktop printer, released more than two years ago.
The company’s 2,000-plus customers included Wilson Sporting Goods Co.
