Arburg adds speedy injection unit

Dec. 7, 2022
The 1300 injection unit runs on several Allrounder models, and is appropriate for applications that produce packaging from typical materials.

1300 injection unit This Arburg electric injection unit is appropriate for applications that produce packaging from common materials, like PP.

What’s new? The injection unit. At the K Show, the company ran the injection unit on an electric Allrounder 720 A with a clamping force of about 325 tons to produce round PP cups on a four-cavity mold in a 3.95-second cycle. Each of the parts weighed 12 grams and had wall thicknesses of only 0.37mm. Along with the Allrounder 720 A, a number of other injection molding machines — the Allrounders 630 A, 820 A, 920 A and 1120 A — also can run the 1300 injection unit.

Benefits Twice the speed. New motors supplied by Arburg’s recently acquired subsidiary, AMKmotion GmbH + Co KG, Kirchheim unter Teck, Germany, plus a new planetary roller screw drive, make possible injection speeds of 400mm per second — a rate that greatly surpasses previous speeds of 200mm per second.
