Chain hoists Harrington Hoists has introduced two series of dual-speed electric chain hoists that are suitable for a wide variety of applications, including moving raw materials and finished products in plastics factories. Available in four capacities from 250 pounds to 1 ton, the EQ and SEQ series hoists have two mounting options — hook or suspension bar — and are available with either push or geared trolleys. EQ series hoists also are available with a dual-speed, variable-frequency-drive motorized trolley; an EQ 1-ton model with the motorized trolley is shown. The EQ series hoists feature a three-phase motor; SEQ hoists have a single-phase motor.

What's new? The SEQ series offers dual-speed operation via a single-phase, variable frequency drive, which Harrington is touting as an industry first. Also, both series have a function that automatically boosts hoist speed by up to 130 percent when the load is less than 30 percent of the working load limit; the feature is new for Harrington Hoist products.

Benefits Durability and a design that makes maintenance easy. The hoist's compact, die-cast aluminum body is completely sealed and suitable for use in harsh environments. With no brake coil to fail, the pull-rotor motor brake is more durable and reliable than conventional disc brakes. The nickel-plated load chain is corrosion-resistant, and the forged carbon steel hooks will not fracture under excessive loads.
