8000-SLIM NDC Technologies' new web-gauging system and SlimTrak scanner measure parameters such as thickness, coat weight, basis weight and moisture. The scanning system can be used for applications such as measuring the thickness of an extruded plastic sheet or the amount of a coating, such as a PP laminate, applied to a paper or foil sheet. The system is suited for narrow applications, such as making sheets of labels.

Benefits Real-time, cost-effective measurements for quality assurance. The SlimTrak scanner has a smaller footprint than similar NDC scanners and can operate in more compact areas. Its cross-sectional area is less than 6 inches by 6 inches and it supports web widths or roll widths from 8 inches to 63 inches. The scanner can be mounted as far as 65 feet away from the scanner electronics.
