TomoScope computed tomography (CT) scanners The software for some of Werth's coordinate measuring machines has been upgraded with a feature that provides analysis of multimaterial parts that combine plastic and metal. Using the new feature, Multi-Spectra-CT, the machines can take two CT measurements with spectra tuned to each separate material and then combine the measurements together. This feature, which is available with Werth scanners using at least 190 kilovolts, can be used by both mold makers and processors for a variety of applications, including quality-assurance operations and first-part validation.
What's new? The multimaterial scanning function, which has been available for only a few months.
Benefits The ability to nondestructively verify the dimensions and internal features of parts made with more than one material.
