AMI 120 Designed to measure contaminants, such as moisture, oxygen and microbes, within pharmaceutical blister packs, Pfeiffer Vacuum's new in-line tester is compliant with U.S. Food and Drug Administration standards.

What's new? The device, which was introduced to the North American market at Pack Expo in September. It has been available for about 18 months in Europe, where it was evaluated by a number of pharmaceutical companies.

Benefits Speedy, accurate readings, with greater sensitivity than some gas-testing processes. The tester can be quickly programmed to detect the gases that make up the air that has been sealed into a blister pack. It can measure the leak rate down to 0.1 microns within 45 seconds. Additionally, because it requires no tracer gases, the tester is easier and less expensive to operate than some competing devices.
