DCS fenceless zones This new Dual Check Safety software option for Fanuc robots, introduced at IMTS 2014 in September, creates a virtual wall around the robot to let an operator safely work with it in closer proximity.
What's new? Now an intelligent feature on Fanuc's DCS software for full integration into the robot's controller. Using Fanuc's DCS speed and position check software and area scanners, this feature detects intrusions into the robot's motion area. If sensors detect intrusion into monitored zones, the robot slows down. If they detect intrusion into the motion area, the robot stops.
Benefits The elimination of safety fences for a savings in cost and floor space along with safe access to part trays for easy changeovers.
