Bessemer Series NS-6 traveling extrusion saw This traveling up-cut extrusion saw, intended for a range of extrudates, includes Novatec's signature Siemens 7-inch high-resolution PLC touch screen control with recipe management.
What's new? The saw, recently released, features a 20-inch-diameter carbide-tipped blade with a 6-inch cut capacity and 24-inch table travel. The table — driven by a Siemens servo motor with a 32:1 planetary gear reduction — offers speeds up to 45 feet per minute with as many as 15 cuts per minute. The saw is driven by a 3-horsepower saw arbor motor with a variable speed of 2275 to 3300 rpm.
Benefits Precise clamping. The saw has dual pneumatic clamping cylinders with non-marring, quick change, neoprene clamp plates and easy height adjustment using clevis pins. Clamp plates can be oriented for flat extrusions or pipe and profiles. The saw is equipped with an industrial-strength Siemens PLC touch screen control with such features as batch counter, timer, optical or mechanical cut signal input and Ethernet ready. A hinged table provides easy access to blade enclosure and body, and the fully enclosed blade cavity has above-table stainless steel blade shroud and guarding for operator safety.
