SP Coperion’s SP strand pelletizers transform melted resin into cylindrical, dry pellets. Throughputs ranging from a few pounds per hour to nearly 14,000 pounds per hour are possible. Each pelletizer has a pellet outlet chute with soundproof cladding, a frequency-controlled drive and pneumatic control for feed-roll pressure. As an option, cooling is available for the feed roll and cutting head; a dual drive is also available as an add-on.
What’s new? Upgrades to the SP140, SP240 and SP340 pelletizers. Launched at K 2019 in Germany, the updated pelletizers have a more compact cutting space and more tightly packed cutting tools. Other modifications include the elimination of gaps near the intake area and a 20mm increase in operating width. As part of the redesign, all motors have been moved to an area below the base plate, and the chamber system now boasts a quick-change cutting system. In addition to making the enhancements, Coperion has developed a new technology for adjusting the cutting gap. Fine adjustments can be made by hand.
