Star Plastics gets positive sustainability rating 

Custom compounder Star Plastics recently received a “good” rating from EcoVadis, the world’s largest provider of corporate sustainability ratings. Star was awarded a commitment badge in recognition of its sustainability achievements. 

“Star has been a recycler focused on sustainability during our entire 35 years,” said Doug Ritchie, founder and vice president of corporate strategy for the Ravenswood, W. Va.-based compounder. “We’re proud to receive this specific assessment from EcoVadis, and even more importantly, it gives us a detailed roadmap for improving our sustainability practices going forward.” 

EcoVadis bases its ratings on four sustainability themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
