The ALPLA Group reported a financially successful 2022, with revenue of $5.5 billion, marking sales growth of 27.5 percent. The Hard, Austria-based company, which produces custom packaging and operates recycling facilities, attributed part of the rise to the increasing costs for energy, materials, staff and transport.
The company also achieved significant expansion in 2022, boosting the number of plants from 177 to 190 and hiring more than 1,000 additional employees.
The company said its plans for 2023 include expanding its injection molding capacities and pharmaceuticals division, increasing research of alternative materials and boosting investment in recycling.
“The packaging industry will be dealing with high costs, changes in demand and changing consumer behavior for a long time to come,” ALPLA CEO Philipp Lehner said. “We use efficiency, innovation and recycling expertise to realize safe, affordable and sustainable plastic solutions in times of crisis, too.”
