PES600 This densifier from Promeco Co., Kankaanpää, Finland, is designed to handle a wide range of materials, including those with a high moisture content. It is especially suited for processing highly volatile materials. It has twin, counter-rotating screws to melt the input material. Pressure and friction generated by the process continuously melt the plastic to between 380 degrees Fahrenheit and 390 degrees Fahrenheit, vaporizing the water content. The unit produces thick strands of homogeneous material. It has a PLC-based control system and can be fed via a conveyor. In the U.S., ADG distributes Promeco products.
What's new? The densifier.
Benefits Ability to handle a variety of flexible and rigid plastics, including very moist or volatile materials. The densifier can process post-consumer and post-industrial PE, HDPE, EPS and PP with moisture content up to 20 percent, as well as plastics contaminated with paper, cardboard, textiles and wood. Promeco said the unit has a small footprint and easy-to-maintain design and uses less power than models with similar throughputs. Material degassed in the densifier does not have to be degassed later in the extruder. The control system can automatically adjust to different feedstocks.
