Eco suite plus Okuma has a long tradition of pursuing sustainability for its line of machine tools, with innovations such as its Thermo-Friendly Concept to manage thermal temperature ranges during machining, which debuted in 2001. In 2014, the company unveiled its Eco suite, a software product to monitor and optimize energy management in Okuma’s CNC machine tools.
What’s new? Eco suite plus, which introduces a range of new features. The Eco Idling Stop function monitors a machine’s milling and turning spindle cooling stays, automatically turning off coolers when the spindle temperature is stable. The Eco Power Monitor feature lets operators view each component’s power consumption on the machine tool's display.
Benefits Improved energy savings. Optimizing power usage allows Okuma’s machine tools to lower operation costs. Optional features available for Eco suite plus include Eco Hydraulics, which ensures the hydraulic pump is only activated as necessary to meet pressure demands, and Eco Operation, which helps users of multiple peripherals by automatically limiting peripheral usage on an as-needed basis.
