Haas turning centers boast powerful A2-8 spindle

Oct. 4, 2021
The ST-28 family packs power into a smaller-than-expected footprint.

Compact turning centers Haas’ ST-28 family of turning centers incorporates Haas’ powerful A2-8 spindle, which is typically found in a larger machine. All models have a 12-inch chuck size, a 4-inch bar capacity and a 40-horsepower vector drive spindle. Automatic doors are an available option for all models of the family.

What’s new? The ST-28 family of turning centers, which includes the ST-28, ST-28Y, ST-28L and ST-28LY.

Benefits High power-to-size ratio. Incorporating the larger spindle means users get the advantages of a 12-inch-chuck machine in the footprint of an 8-inch-chuck machine. This allows users to expand their turning capability for larger-diameter, heavier work without purchasing a big machine and tying up valuable shop space. The machines can also be paired with Haas’ Robot Package-2 for fully automated loading and unloading.
