DME S-Cores release parts from injection molds

Sept. 28, 2021
The collapsible cores are used to release parts from injection molds with undercuts and are customized for each application.

S-Core DME’s collapsible cores are used to release parts from injection molds with undercuts. The stainless-steel components come in oval and rectangular designs and in a wide range of diameters. They can be configured with six, eight or 12 segments, enabling the molding of parts measuring as small as 6mm or as large as 1.3 feet. The length and depth of the undercut dictate the number of segments needed to release the part.

What’s new? The S-Core collapsible cores, which are customized for each application by DME engineers. They have patented safety stops built into the corners of the folding segments that prevent the segments from touching each other during ejection.

Benefits Durability and simplicity. The long-lasting cores facilitate the production of high-quality parts, due to the patented safety stops. The cores allow for simplified, smaller molds, faster cycle times and reduced mold maintenance compared with traditional unscrewing devices.
