Hexagon's RS6 scans larger surfaces

Nov. 1, 2019
Hexagon's new RS6 scanner, which works with the company's seven-axis Absolute Arm measuring system, is faster and more accurate than its predecessor.

RS6 This blue-laser scanner from Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence can be used with its seven-axis Absolute Arm portable measuring arm systems. When touch probing is needed for hard-to-access areas, the RS6 can easily be removed, then reattached without the need for recalibration.

What’s new? A larger scan area. The RS6’s scan line is almost 6 inches wide at mid-range, which is more than a 30 percent increase in coverage compared to Hexagon’s previous generation of laser scanners.

Benefits Easy scanning. The scanner uses advanced algorithms and a frame rate that is three times faster than its predecessor to allow for faster scan rates with no loss of point-cloud detail. The laser also projects a range finder on the part to help users position the scanner correctly, improving measurement accuracy and efficiency.
