Arburg GmbH + Co KG, Lossburg, Germany, has announced that as of June 1, Martin Baumann — a former executive at Maag Group Americas, Eagle Rock, Va. — will head Arburg Inc., Rocky Hill, Conn., as its new managing director. He succeeds Friedrich Kanz, who set up the U.S. subsidiary and has retired after more than 23 years with the company.
Baumann served almost four years as VP and GM at Maag, which makes gear pumps, granulator and filtration systems.
“I feel greatly honored to be part of the Arburg family, and I look forward to making my contribution towards ensuring that our customers can produce their plastic parts efficiently, the key to commercial success, with our high-end technology,” he said.
In addition to Arburg’s offices in Connecticut, the company’s North American operations include technology centers in Illinois and California. More than 100 people work at the various sites.
